In highschool, I came out at the end of grade 10. The next year, in the locker room, I felt really unsafe. There are no cameras, no protection. There was that one group of guys who I’d heard was talking behind my back, things like, “What’s he wearing today? What’s he doing now?” And then you would get these direct comments like “are you looking at me?” You slowly change things about yourself to try to please other people. You almost forget who you are. It’s a loss of identity.
